Anatalis Calendar 2012 – A new format in graphic design – “calenclock”

Hong Kong based design studio Blow was founded in 2010 by Ken Lo and mainly deals with various creative disciplines like branding, identities, packaging, environmental graphics, print, publications and website design, and what’s more important they excel at their job. I want to mention one of their projects, a calendar and a watch, a combination of items essential to every modern day man or woman. The author says that when he thought about the project he made a connection between 12 hours and twelve months which resulted in this new format that he dubbed “calenclock”. The whole concept is very interesting and comes in a simple black box with a bright green ribbon that completes the visual identity.

Aishti Campaigns and Visual Identity

It’s really great to find such an exquisite visual identity as the one that was developed for the Middle-Eastern Aishti luxury store. Design studio Sagmeister inc. used black and bright yellow to create an extremely stylish design that is a product of a lot of great ideas, design solutions and art direction lead by Creative Director: Stefan Sagmeister Art Direction & Design: Jessica Walsh and Photographer: Bela Borsodi. This enormous project encompasses Aishti’s stationary, wrapping & tissue paper, gift cards, garment bags, credit cards, stickers, and more. I will also give you a chance to see the parts of the advertising campaign that were to be found in newspapers, magazines and billboards across Lebanon.

Jewelry Packaging Klotz

Human imagination is truly amazing, but the beauty often lies in simplicity. The idea to combine six wooden cubes into a ring box is completely straightforward, and when seeing it for the first time you would probably never guess that that piece of wood holds jewelry. Apart from keeping the ring protected from outside influences it also looks great so you don’t need any extra packaging if you intend to present it to someone as a gift. One of its important qualities is that it is completely biodegradable, so it doesn’t hurt the environment. Simple but interesting way of opening the box just adds to the impression. This is the work of Gerlinda Gruber, a freelance packaging and product designer based in Vienna and Graz, Austria.
